What is COACH?

Coach is a long term mentoring program. Volunteer mentors from within the community are trained to support disadvantaged families in creating a brighter, more positive future for themselves.

What does COACH aim to achieve?

The aim of COACH is to mobilise people to make a positive and significant difference in the lives of families in need so that the cycles of generational poverty and family dysfunction can be broken.

How does COACH help?

Mentors are encouraging, non-judgemental people trained to assist families to make changes in their lives. Mentors can offer support to address issues such as: family relationships, managing budgets, managing health issues, parenting difficulties, finding work and isolation.

How can you help?

We are looking for mentors who can partner with a family for over a 12-18 month period to support, encourage & affirm them to make plans to achieve their goals. Full training and supervision will be provided for each mentor.

SEEKING COACH PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR 2017

City Women is seeking a co-ordinator for the COACH program for 2017.

The co-ordinator is a volunteer role for one day a week. Responsibilities include:

1. COACH Program Orientation and Adherence to Policies & Procedures.

Be orientated to the COACH Community Mentoring Policies and Procedures and ensure the implementation and ongoing facilitation of the program is managed accordingly.

2. Recruitment and Support of Mentors

Ensure all Mentors undergo all relevant welfare, referee and recruitment checks in accordance with the COACH Community Mentoring Policies and Procedures.

Ensure all Mentors are provided timely supervision and support as they conduct their tasks relevant to their clients.

Ensure all Mentors are familiar with their role and are conducting themselves in accordance with the COACH Conduct and Safety Policy.

Ensure all Mentors complete monthly reports regarding the support they are providing to their clients.

Facilitate regular support meetings with the Mentor team to reflect upon work practice and to build skills through further training opportunities.

3. Intake and Support to Clients

Conduct assessments of possible Clients into the program in accordance with the COACH Assessment Guidelines.
