About Us

Our story began in 2017, when four mums agreed that our community needed a place to plant seeds of love, hope and health. Our vision is to create beautiful, stimulating and friendly community garden hubs where people of all ages and backgrounds can gather and harvest good stuff (vegetables, fruit, flowers, encouragement, friendship, knowledge and dreams). We know that by improving access to free and affordable fresh produce, along with mentoring and education, we can assist EVERYONE in reducing their risk factors for lifestyle-related health problems.

Our aims are to:

  • promote healthy eating and address issues of food security in our community
  • provide education to groups and individuals to increase consumption of fresh healthy produce in their daily lives
  • improve access to free and affordable fresh produce (PYO = Pick Your Own)
  • create inspiring hubs where people may find inclusion, acceptance, and support
  • serve our community with love, respect, grace, and compassion
  • partner with other organisations and community groups to achieve greater good for Toowoomba
  • be financially independent – watch this space, long-term we wish to establish a social enterprise to support the work of Flourish PYO and provide employment opportunities
